Coquitlam fashion store H&M is closed for renovation
Are you looking forward to the spring fashion collection? H&M at Coquitlam Center is temporarily closed for renovations.
Coquitlam fashionistas wanting to stay current with the spring line-up of fashion for men, women, children and home decor at H&M will have to shop online.
The Swedish brand known for garment collecting and recycling has closed up its Coquitlam Center mall store for a big renovation.
According to the City of Coquitlam, H&M has taken out a building permit valued at $1.3 million for store renovations.
In a statement, the company told the Tri-City News that H&M is “constantly looking at our store portfolio and looking at stores that may be older to update and renovate” with the goal of adapting to “changing customer behavior.”
The store will re-open in a few months from now, the media spokesperson said.
“We look forward to reopening our location at Coquitlam Center and bringing fashion and quality at the best price in a sustainable way to our customers there.”
Meanwhile, renovations are still underway at the Coquitlam Center mall food court.
Coquitlam Center has offered to donate the food court tables and chairs to local schools once the renovations are complete.
At the Tuesday, Feb. 7 board of education meeting, superintendent Patricia Gartland acknowledged the donation and said several schools have already asked for the equipment which could be available by late spring.
The food court renovation is a significant investment, including $9 million for the food court and $2 million for washroom renovations.
It will include the addition of 200 new seats and a whole new cafe section, according to the Coquitlam Center website.
